Spotify Ripper

Want to rip music from sites and applications like Spotify but don't know how? Ripping music online with a spotify ripper is a straightforward process and I will show you the best programs to use. Ripping music for personal use is not illegal and is similar to recording a song from the radio.

Here are my favourite applications that allow you to rip music from spotify....

Update - The only program that I now use is Replay Music, find out why below.

1. Best Method - Replay Music

I have found the best method to rip from spotify is with Replay music. It is simple to use and creates extremely high quality mp3's from spotify playlists.  Another great feature is automatic naming and sorting of files. It costs around £10 (around $15) to buy the full version which if you think about it is a small amount of money to be able to easily rip any song from spotify. Certainly the best result for any serious ripper or for someone who wants something that works well and is very easy to use. Recommended!

How to use Replay Music to record songs from Spotify:

  1. Download Replay Music and install it. Once installed launch the program.

  2. Click the Settings button. On the Input tab choose a location on your computer to store your ripped Spotify songs.

  3. Stay within the input tab and select Audio Driver as the Input Source. By doing this you wll be able to record songs from your sound card without any background noise.

  4. Using the output tab you can adjust File name format to something you prefer, leave this if you are unsure what to do.

On the same tab select Record to MP3 and change the bit-rate to 192kbps. Also select the VBR (variable bit-rate) for better quality and smaller filesize.

  5. Close down the settings window - this is the only time you will need to make these adjustments.

  6. Launch Spotify and choose either a playlist or song that you wish to rip. Make sure that replay music was launched before Spotify. Do not press play at this point.

  7. In Replay Music click Start Recording

  8. You can enter artist and album details and alter any other settings that you want to change. You can also click Add tracks to iTunes to have completed songs automatically added to iTunes. Press OK.

  9. Start your song or playlist in Spotify and sit back, relax and let Replay Music record your chosen Spotify tracks. It also names, splits and tags them automatically.

  10. When completed you can right click on a recording and choose Tag track to identify a song if for some reason Replay Music didn't manage to find the tags (artist... etc)

  11. You are finished! Now enjoy your new mp3s on any device or player.
